Provincial Association memberships are approved by the AEF Board of Directors at the board meeting following receipt of the membership application.

As applications are approved, payments will be processed and Associations will be listed.


Alberta 4-H Provincial Equine Advisory Committee

Alberta 4-H develops leadership, communication, technical and life skills of 4-H members and leaders to strengthen communities.  The program is open to youth between the ages of 9 and 20.  There are a variety of projects available, of which horse is one.  The purpose of the 4-H Equine project is to endeavor to ensure that the interaction between the horse and rider is as safe and enjoyable as possible for both the horse and rider.

The Alberta Carriage Driving Association (ACDA) is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting the equestrian discipline of carriage driving and the growing sport of Combined Driving.  The Association hosts numerous events around the province and welcomes all level of drivers and all equine breeds.

ADMC is an organization that tries to educate the public on caring for and the abilities of Donkeys and Mules.  The club does numerous demonstrations throughout the year and are always willing to take animals to various functions.  Please keep us in mind for promo opportunities.

The Alberta Friesian Horse Association (AFHA) is an FHANA chapter composed of Friesian Horse owners/breeders in Canada and concerned with events regarding Friesian Horses.  We choose to register our Purebred Friesian Horses in the original studbook for Friesian Horses, the KFPS, via the Friesian Horse Association of North America.

Provincial sport body of horse trials in Alberta.  The association delivers assistance to separate organzation sites of horse trials, puts on clinics, administers a program to help and support high performance athletes in our sport, tracks provincial scores and administers provincial awards


Alberta Miniature Chuckwagon Racing Association

We are a miniature chuckwagon racing association which entertains at shows thorughout Alberta and BC.  Our races are run with two wagons per heat around two barrels set in a figure eight pattern around a pylon track in the infield or arena.  We are family entertainment and our horses, drivers & families love delighting the crowds.  Please check our website for listing of our upcoming events.

We offer equine sport in the way of Endurance/Long Distance riding, over natural terrain, from grassroots to podium.  Awards are given at each ride from 1st to 4th and for best conditioned horse.  We also have a youth program to encourage young riders to take up the sport.

Jump Alberta Society

Jump Alberta was formed in 2012 with a merger between the AHHS/CEDL and the ASJA, to form a unified association representing both the hunter and jumper disciplines in Alberta.  Working with both provincial and federal sport bodies we aim to promote the sport, further the development of junior and amateur riders through educational oportunites and awards and recognition progrmas, and promote and organize H/J competitions.


Trail Riding Alberta Conference

Competitive trail rides are held in scenic areas of Alberta, that provide the greatest challenge, and enjoyment for horse and rider.  Riders are divided into 3 classes of Novice, Intermediate, and Open with three divisions within each of Junior, Lightweight and Heavyweight.  The objective is not to be the first across the finish line, but to finish with your horse in as close to the condition as when you began the ride within a specific time period.
